ADM is conducting a Time of Use Rate experiment for the Sacramento Municipal Utility District.  This project includes sample selection, recruitment, supervision, and installation of end-use monitoring and Time of Use meters.
ADM is conducting an evaluation study of Commercial and Industrial (C&I) Programs that PacifiCorp fielded in Utah and Washington.  This evaluation study is to include an impact and a process evaluation.  Data for the study are to be collected through interviews with program staff, review of program materials and processes, on-site inspections, end-use metering, and interviews with customers.  These data wil be used in engineering review and other impact analysis to estimate energy savings and demand reductions resulting from the program.  The data will also be used in the process evaluation and analysis of program design and operations.
ADM is conducting a process, market and impact evaluation of the B. C. Hydro Power Saving Partners Industrial program.  Key issues that to be addressed during the study include determining customer satisfaction with the program and its components, assessing the effectiveness of each program component and providing recommendations for program improvement, assessing the share of the potential market captured through the program, estimating the remaining market potential, determining gross savings associated with the program and each of its components, determining customer and BC Hydro costs associated with capturing these savings, and determining the program net savings.
ADM is conducting an impact evaluation of the Energy Trust of Oregon  2004 and 2005 Building Efficiency Programs. Key issues to be addressed through our evaluation included development of reliable estimates of gross and net program savings for the 2004 and 2005 Building Efficiency Programs, and making observations and developing recommendations to improve the effectiveness of future engineering studies and evaluations of the Energy Trust’s commercial retrofit efficiency projects.
ADM is providing technical consultation and evaluation on emerging technologies for SMUD.  The technologies being evaluated include:
  • Coolerado - a direct/indirect evaporative cooler
  • Freus - water cooled condensers used in residential air conditioning systems
  • Ice Bear -an ice storage system, which can be integrated with existing packaged air conditioning systems.
  • SunCache - a solar water pre-heater
  • Remote Site Manager - A web enabled energy management system
  • Energy efficient vanity lighting systems for hotel and nursing home bathrooms.
  • Peak Spray Cooling - water mist for air-cooled condensers
ADM is implementing the Mobile Energy Clinic and Diagnostic Services Program for the California Public Utilities Commission, and for the New York State Energy Research and Develoment Authority. This program focuses on improving energy efficiency for small businesses by making no-cost/low-cost improvements for energy efficiency, and by providing diagnostics of energy-using equipment. Small businesses that participate in this program have actual no-cost/low-cost improvements made to their equipment. They also have their HVAC performance tested, condenser coils cleaned, filters changed, lighting systems evaluated, and other energy using equipment, such as water heaters, compressors and process equipment checked for proper use. Owners/managers are given a checklist of other energy efficiency actions that they can take..
ADM managed the Low-Income Energy Efficient Housing Program; a three-year research effort targeted towards adapting technologies (either new or existing) that reduce residential energy use and by doing so reduce consumer costs. The program brought together a distinguished group of scientists and researchers from the Energy Systems Laboratory at Texas A&M University, the Florida Solar Energy Center at the University of Central Florida, the University of Nebraska and the Heat Island Group at Lawrence Berkeley Laboratories. Funded by the California Energy Commission through its Public Interest Research Program (PIER), the consultant team was charged with carrying out the many tasks associated with the research program.

ADM managed the Central Valley Schools Energy Efficiency Program for the California State and Consumer Services Agency.

This program offered a variety of educational resources to teach K-12 grade students about energy, and provided technical support to assist schools with energy-efficient facility upgrades

ADM has conducted a statewide evaluation of the effectiveness of bi-level lighting controls and task lighting for Southern California Edison Co. This study, conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of dual switching required under Title-24 California Building Standards, included extensive monitoring of lighting controls and occupancy profiles.
Under a subcontract, ADM will be conducting a statewide evaluation of the multi-family residential new construction baseline.
ADM has completed the final reports for a Nonresidential Remodeling and Renovation Study, for the California Energy Commission. For this study, ADM collected and analyzed data to characterize nonresidential remodeling and renovation market activity in California. The data and analysis produced through this study will be used in evaluating energy efficiency market transformation efforts, and the effectiveness of individual programs and in strategic planning efforts.
Under a subcontract for the California Energy Commission ADM performed field survey work and simulation efforts for the CEUS Project in the service territories of SCE, SDG&E, and SMUD.
ADM will continue with conducting measurement and verification for the NYSERDA Standard Performance Contract Program for the next several years.
ADM will continue the Non-Residential Measure Retention Study for Southern California Edison Co. in 2005 and 2006.
